Overview

This article helps you open, configure, and interpret the Job Conversion Report. The report shows how effectively your jobs convert from views to application starts and completed applications. This helps you identify which jobs, consultants, clients, and channels generate the most applications.

Key benefits

  • Understand how job views convert into application starts and completed applications.

  • Compare conversion performance across jobs, consultants, clients, disciplines, and channels.

  • Identify where candidates drop off during the application process.

  • Filter results using job attributes and UTM (Urchin Tracking Module) values to answer targeted questions.

  • Save report settings to quickly return to your preferred configuration.

  • Export report data as a CSV file for deeper analysis in external tools.

Before you start

Before using the Job Conversion Report, make sure you have:

⚠️ Important: Job conversion reporting is not available on all sites. If you cannot see the report, contact your Support team to confirm availability.

πŸ“Œ Note: Report data refreshes automatically every 15 minutes, so very recent activity may not appear immediately.

Open the Job Conversion Report

You can access the Job Conversion Report from the Reports section in your Admin Area.

  1. Log in to your Admin Area.

  2. Click the Your Website tab.

  3. Under Reports, click Job Conversion Report.

Configure report settings

You can adjust the date range and grouping to control what the report displays.

Set the date range

Use Date Range to choose the start and end dates for your report. The report shows data only for activity within the selected date range.

πŸ“Œ Note: If you have not saved any report settings yet, the report may default to last month.

Choose how to group results

Use Report on to choose how results are grouped and aggregated. This groups your results by a specific category, known as the dimension.

Common dimensions include:

For example, selecting Consultant groups all metrics by consultant. Selecting UTM Source groups metrics by tracking source such as Indeed or LinkedIn.

Filter the Job Conversion Report

Filters let you focus on specific jobs, consultants, or traffic sources to answer more targeted questions.

Understand filter logic

Filter logic works in two parts. All filters are joined by AND, and all values within a single filter are joined by OR.

This means if you select multiple values within one filter, a result can match any of those values. If you select multiple different filters, a result must match all of those filters.

Filter by jobs

Use Jobs filters to restrict the report to specific jobs and job attributes. Available filters include:

  • Client.

  • Consultant.

  • consultantGroup.

  • discipline.

  • job.

  • jobFunction.

  • jobType.

  • salary.

  • salaryKeyword.

πŸ“Œ Note: Job filters are not available when you are reporting on a UTM dimension such as UTM Source, UTM Medium, or UTM Campaign. In this case, you can only filter on UTM-related fields.

Filter by application UTM values

Use Job Applications filters to filter views and applications using UTM values from your tracking setup. Typical UTM filters include utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign.

Depending on your site configuration, you may also see utm_content and utm_term.

πŸ€“ Tip: Combine job and UTM filters to answer specific questions. For example, set the discipline filter to IT or Engineering and the utm_source filter to Indeed to see applications from Indeed for those disciplines only.

Understand job conversion metrics

The report displays activity counts and conversion rates for your selected dimension. Use the sections below to understand each metric.

View totals and averages

  • Use Result in to choose how the report presents your data.

  • Select Total to see the raw counts for views, application starts, and applications. Use this when you want to see overall volume for each group.

  • Select Average to see performance per live job. Views and application counts are divided by the number of Live Jobs to give average metrics.

πŸ€“ Tip: Use Average when comparing groups with different numbers of live jobs, such as two consultants who manage different numbers of jobs.

Save and export the report

You can save your report settings and download data for further analysis.

Save report settings

If your report includes a Save settings button, click it to store your current date range, dimension, filters, and other selections. You can then reload the same configuration without rebuilding it each time.

Download the report

You can export the report data as a CSV file for analysis in tools such as Excel.

  1. Open the Job Conversion Report with your desired filters and settings applied.

  2. Click the Download icon.

  3. Select CSV to download the file.

Best practices

  • Review job conversion performance regularly to identify jobs, consultants, or channels with high or low conversion rates.

  • Compare Total and Average results to determine whether performance is driven by a few high-volume jobs or is consistent across all jobs.

  • Export CSV data when you need to build dashboards or share results with stakeholders.

  • Check your Google Analytics connection if the report shows blank or lower-than-expected data.

πŸ“Œ Note: Data refreshes every 15 minutes, so allow time for very recent activity to appear in the report.

FAQs

Q1: Why can I not see the Job Conversion Report?

  • Answer: The Job Conversion Report is not available on all sites. Contact your Support team or Account Manager to confirm whether reporting is enabled for your site.

Q2: Why is the report blank or missing data?

  • Answer: The report relies on Google Analytics to track job views and application starts. Confirm that Google Analytics is connected in Settings, then click Site: Google Analytics. Data also refreshes every 15 minutes, so very recent activity may not appear yet.

Q3: Why do the counts look lower than I expect?

  • Answer: If your Job Views and Application Start counts appear lower than expected, this is likely due to incomplete tracking. These counts come from Google Analytics using the job's permalink, so check your Google Analytics implementation to ensure all job pages are being tracked.

Q4: Can I use job filters when reporting on a UTM dimension?

  • Answer: No, job filters are not available when you report on a UTM dimension such as UTM Source, UTM Medium, or UTM Campaign. You can only filter on UTM-related fields when using these dimensions.

Q5: What is the difference between Total and Average results?

  • Answer: Total shows raw counts for views, application starts, and applications. Average divides these counts by the number of Live Jobs, giving average performance per job. Use Average when comparing groups with different numbers of live jobs.

Q6: How do I save my report settings?

  • Answer: If the Save settings option is available, click it to store your chosen date range, dimension, and filters. This option may not be available on all sites.

Q7: Can I download the report data?

  • Answer: Yes, open the report with your desired settings, click the Download icon, and select CSV. You can then open the file in a spreadsheet or reporting tool for further analysis.

Q8: How does the filter logic work when I use multiple filters?

  • Answer: All filters are joined by AND, so results must match every filter you apply. Within a single filter, values are joined by OR, so a result can match any value in that filter.
